Samsung HLR4667W 46 Inch Widescreen HDTV DLP TV

When it comes to widescreen TV, DLP rear projeection is an extremely wise choice. Its image is outstanding and there’s no burn-through effect from broadcast TV. It’s not a flat TV but at 13 inches deep, it rests comfortably on most tabletops. Considering performance and value, this HDTV compatible set is worth a serious look. It is Digital Cable Ready (DCR) and includes CableCARD, which means you won’t need a set-top box to enjoy basic digital cable reception (please check whether your cable TV provider offers this service). With the proper antenna, the built-in analog/digital ( NTSC / ATSC ) tuner will receive free over-the-air HDTV signals (J&R offers a selection from TERK). User Ratings and Reviews

1 Star This DLP TV is a Lemon
Samsung DLP HL-R4667W TV is a lemon. I bought this model about two years ago. It got problems less one years. Service man gave me a list of parts to replace to fix the problems.

1. Lamp. 2. Ballast. 3. Fans. 4. Color wheel. 5….

If you like looking for trouble, go buy Samsung projection TV. Otherwise, get away from these lemons.

1 Star Warranty = no warranty and lots of headaches
We purchased this TV a little over a year ago. It’s still under warranty because they gave us an extended 90 day warranty. The problem is they don’t warranty their product. I purchased a lamp and that didn’t fix it. So, I returned the lamp. Samsung told me to call a warranty rep. I did and made an appointment, but they didn’t show up. Samsung told me they didn’t have anyone else in our city so I would have to wait 2-3 days for approval for someone from 70 miles away to come work on my TV. I called back later and was told I had to wait 6-8 days. Then I called back on the 8th day and was told I had to wait 7-14 days for approval for out of town service. On the 14th day they approved someone else from my town to come…not 70 miles away…amazing…now they had 2 warranty reps in my town…not sure why I needed to wait 14 business days. The new people made the appointment and came out…very nice people. The problem grew…it wasn’t the lamp and it wasn’t the ballast. It was the biggest, most expensive component on the TV…basically the guts of my TV. They told me they would have to get approval from Samsung. Five days later, they called and told me Samsung doesn’t make that part anymore and wanted the warranty rep to take it to their shop and see if they could fix it. Amazing, a TV is still in warranty and they don’t make the part for it anymore…isn’t that illegal? Save yourself the headaches and frustrations, don’t buy any Samsung product if you are expecting it to be covered under warranty. They have no desire to repair their products under warranty and are very rude and matter of fact about it.

5 Stars Great TV For The Price
Not that you can buy this model new any more, but if you come across a used one, you shouldn’t be afraid to buy it. The bulbs are rated for 6000-8000 hours and replacements only cost $149 direct from Samsung. At normal usage rates, that’s 3-5 years before they need replacing. I bought mine in May of 2005 and it’s still on the original bulb and has never needed any other maintenance.

1 Star Garbage- And company follows suit
I have had this for 18 months now and am waiting for another service call. No exaggeration that every 6 months is a new problem. Purchased in 6/05 for $1,600 + $350 for 2 yr warranty from PC Richard(thank god), 12/05 the TV went out and the serviceman had to order the part(BULB AFTER 6 MONTHS OF MINIMAL USE), it took 2 weeks to get the part and done, right? Nope, June of 06′ it goes out again, this time its the power supply box, replacement in 10 days. This week it started playing games again, service will be in here Monday, it takes 5 minutes for the TV to turn on, sometimes longer. The first 2 service reps, and the one I spoke to today said that these models have persistent problems, and as long as they are repairable the set will not be replaced by Samsung, and they wont even respond to my calls.

Totally undependable, now I have to shell out another $350 for another 2 year warranty , So for $1,600 I will hope to get 4 years out of this set and spending an additional $700 for a warranty. What a joke, SAMSUNG DLPS SUCK, plain and simple. DO NOT BUY THEIR PRODUCTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I PROMISE, 3 REPAIRMEN AND THE MORE I READ ABOUT IT SEEMS TO BE A TYPICAL PROBLEM FOR THIS COMPANY AND THESE DLP SETS.

5 Stars Out Standing Quality and a price to match
I just brought the HLR4667W and I have to say it had to be one of the easiest TV’s to set up and connect to my other componet’s that I’ve ever had. The picture is beautiful, sound is excellant, and I love the PIP feature, never had it before, alway’s thouhgt it was something that I would never use, but now that I have it, I love it.

The sharp picture, and the color’s are life like. I brought my TV on base for $1399.00 total no taxes, and took it home. The DLP is very sharp and I would recommend this Tv to anyone, and I love the idea that it only has one light bulb to replace instead of 3 or 4.
